Igboa Abumere is an Information Security Executive with over 20 years’ experience specialized in Information Security Assurance & Cyber Risk Management. He has a strong technical background in IT and Information Risk management were he focuses on delivering effective security programs that ensure information assets and technology systems are adequately protected.
He is the Chief Information Security Officer for Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC and leads a team of information security professionals in protecting the organization’s information assets. He has led many large-scale security projects like setting up a cyber security operations center, implementing an enterprise identity management platform and delivering an enterprise fraud management system.
Abumere is an alumni of the prestigious Lagos Business School in Nigeria where he graduated from the senior management program, holds a first degree in Physics, a Masters in Business Administration from Obafemi Awolowo university and a range of IT and Cyber security professional certifications.
He was also the inaugural Chairman of the Committee of Chief Information Security Officers of the Nigerian Financial Institutions (CCISONFI) comprising Deposit Money Banks and Payment System Providers.
