Nonye Ujam is an accomplished leader in government affairs and digital policy, currently serving as Director for Government Affairs at Microsoft, where she oversees engagement across West Africa. With over 18 years’ experience spanning technology, policy, and programme management, Nonye drives strategic partnerships with governments, regulators, and multilateral organisations to advance digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and inclusive policy reform.
Her expertise is underpinned by a Master’s in Global Development Practice from Harvard University, where she was awarded the 2024 Dean’s prize for outstanding capstone, an MSc in Computing, IT Law & Management from King’s College London, and a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from Brunel University. Nonye’s career began in the United Kingdom, where she delivered complex projects in both the public and private sectors, before returning to Nigeria to join the Central Bank of Nigeria. There, she led IT policy management and information security programmes and later designed and implemented national development finance initiatives to drive financial inclusion.
A recognised thought leader, Nonye has published research on child marriage in Nigeria (Yale Global), with several other pieces on deepening access to education and the gender divide in socio-economic inclusion. She has earned executive certificates from Oxford University, London School of Economics, University of Luxembourg and the European University Institute. She is a recipient of the 2024 Harvard Dean’s Prize for Outstanding Capstone in Global Development Practice and was on the Dean’s List for Academic Achievement.
Nonye is married to Hon. Dr. Chukwuemeka Ujam and is a proud parent of four children.
