Awo Aidam Amenyah is Executive Director of Child Online Africa, where she leads initiatives on child online protection, digital literacy, and safer internet practices across Africa. With over 15 years of experience beginning in education and extending into social work and child rights advocacy, her work focuses on preventing online harms, supporting survivor reintegration, and strengthening child protection systems, with a particular emphasis on online safety & wellbeing.
Through programmes such as the Happy School Girl Project and ongoing capacity-building efforts, she works with parents, children, educators, and policymakers to advance digital skills and rights-based approaches to child protection. She regularly engages decision-makers on issues of child rights and digital safety.
Awo is an authorized DQ World Training Partner, a member of Ghana’s National Child Online Protection Steering Committee, and Co-Chair of the IGF Dynamic Coalition on Internet Standards, Security and Safety (IS3C-WG2). She also serves as a Child Online Protection capacity-development implementation partner for the ITU, a Board Member of the Discovery Learning Alliance Advisory Committee (Ghana), and a member of the Board of Directors of the Africa Kidney Foundation.
She has been recognized by Ghana’s Ministry of Communication & Digitization for her contributions to child online protection and cybersecurity development. Awo is also an author of resource materials on education, child welfare, and online safety. Her recent work is entitled: The Silent Mountaineer
