We receive and store any information you knowingly provide to us when you register for the summit or fill any online form on the Website. When required, this information may include your email address, name, phone number, address, credit card information, bank information, or other personal information. You can choose not to provide us with certain information, but then you may not be able to complete the registration process. Managing Personal Information
In writing to the Africa Digital Rights’ Hub, you are able to amend, update and delete certain personal information about you. When you update information, however, we may maintain a copy of the unrevised information in our records. Some information may remain in our private records after your deletion of such information for purposes of meeting other internal and statutory requirements such as accounting, taxation, etc. The ADRH will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with some legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements with you and other third parties such as banks, tax agencies, etc. All personal information shall be kept for a period of not more than two (2) years from the date of receipt of such information (Retention Period). Once the Retention Period expires, personal Information shall be permanently deleted. This means that the right to access, the right to erasure, the right to rectification, the right to data portability and all other rights related to the protection of your personal information cannot be enforced after the expiration of the Retention Period.
Use and Processing of Collected Information
Any of the information we collect from you may be used to, for the purpose of this summit; improve our Website, improve customer service and respond to queries and emails of participants, as well as send notification emails concerning your registration. Non-personal information collected is used only to identify potential cases of abuse and establish statistical information regarding Website usage. This statistical information is not otherwise aggregated in such a way that would identify any particular user of the system.
