Lawyer & National Coordinator, The Office for Nigeria Content Development in ICT (ONC)
Kasim is a lawyer with experience in information technology policy and governance, investment advisory, strategic alliance management, marketing communications and Intellectual Property (IP). He also has significant experience leading compliance and due diligence activities to support public institutions, Venture Capital Funds and private companies with significant investments in Nigeria spanning IT, entertainment, telecom and the financial technology.
Kasim is a trained project manager and project finance consultant, with expertise in investment evaluation for Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) and other forms of credit finance arrangements to include private equity investments (PE), Venture Capital (VC) and mezzanine transactions.
Kasim is currently the National Coordinator for The Office for Nigeria Content Development in ICT (ONC) of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) of Nigeria. In this role he oversees efforts in driving the development of local capacities in ICT in Nigeria and implementation of policies for the development of a local IT industry. He also supports other regulatory functions as a consultant within the Agency including data protection, data localization and oversight of data management and information technology firms in Nigeria.
He is a graduate of the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and the Nigerian law School. Currently. Kasim is completing an MSc in Finance & Financial Law from the School of African and Oriental Studies (SOAS), University of London
