‘Dr. Elvis Fokala has more than 12 years of experience working in the field of children’s rights within the CSOs and Academic sectors. During the last seven years, he has established himself as a scholar and an activist with several published academic papers and edited books and Journal issues in the area of children’s rights and constitutional law in relation to Africa. His career history includes working with non-profit organizations and academic institutions in South Africa and in Finland. During his employment in both settings, he has had the privilege to be involved in the development and implementation of major national and cross-border projects on human rights within the specific context of children’s rights.
He holds a PhD in Public International Law (Research focus on Child Law), from the Abo Akademi University in Finland. LL.M in Multidisciplinary Human Rights Law, from the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, South Africa, and LL. B from the University of Buea in Cameroon. He speaks several languages, including English, Pidgin English, French, and Swedish’. He is currently the Programme Manager of the Children’s Rights Unit at the Centre for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria, where he lectures, supervises and manages children’s rights-related projects.’
