Nomzamo is the Senior Manager Communication and Media at the Information Regulator and acts as its spokesperson. Her experience spansto 13 years in government communicationsof which6 yearshas been in middle and senior management. Hercontributions havebeen largely in development communication which is the use of communication for social change. Her career growth stemmed and flourishedat Government Communication and Information System(GCIS)where she held the positions of a Senior Communicationsofficer,Regional CommunicationsOfficer and Deputy Director responsiblefor Provincial and Local Liaison.
She also has vast knowledgeand experiencein Corporate Communications which includesBrand management, events coordination, internal and externalcommunication through the use of publication development, use of digital platforms and media engagement.
She has obtained a National Diploma in Public Relations, BA Degree in Communication Science andcurrentlyis a master’s degreecandidateinPublic Administration. These are coupled with various certificates to enhance her skills such asAdvanced Management Developmentprogrammeand the Youth AfricanLeadership Initiativeprogramme.
She has a passion for community development and has led many communityinitiative focusing on youth empowermentand education. She has served in leadership structuresof the Progressive Professional Forums at regional levels in KZN and in continental structures such as the Pan African Youth Parliamentas theCountry speaker.She enjoys travel, reading, baking,and networking.
