Morine Amutorine
Morine is a data analyst with nearly a decade of experience in Africa's data space. She is
currently working with the Datasphere Initiative as a lead researcher on the Africa
Forum on Sandboxes for Data project, which aims to spur the development and
implementation of innovative data governance frameworks across Africa.
Her past work has focused on analyzing, visualizing, and communicating data to inform
policy and humanitarian projects, with significant experience from her time at the UN
Global Pulse in Uganda. Morine’s experience spans several African countries, including
Uganda, Somalia, Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria. She has conducted research and data
analysis with organizations such as Data4Change, the Centre of Excellence for
Sustainable Health (CESH), and Data Science Africa.
Morine is also a board member of Data Science Africa , where she actively participates
in capacity-building events. She facilitates sessions aimed at demystifying policy
environments for young and emerging data science professionals, equipping them with
the skills to translate data-driven initiatives into actionable policy insights.
